Local artists will set up shop at Johnson Orchards, 4906 Summitview, Yakima, on Saturday, September 7, to raise money for Children’s Village. All donations plus 20% of art proceeds will go toward helping children with special health care needs in our community.
Guests can shop and browse the vendor’s booths from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. among the trees in the orchard. “This event is a wonderful way to support local artists while doing something really great for a wonderful organization,” said Jill Johnson of Johnson Orchards.
A variety of collections—including paintings, jewelry, and glasswork will be presented so every buyer can find what suits them. Esteemed artists such as Duane Heilman, Lucy Valderhaug, Dennis Pedemonte and Boris Gaviria will be featured among other vendors. Vendors interested in joining them can call Katie Buck at (509) 901-1338.
“Children’s Village itself is a tapestry of beautiful collaboration, combining diverse medical professionals with children and families,” said Children’s Village physical therapist Katie Buck. “The Village continues to weave the dreams of families into everyday realities because of the incredible community support for events such as Art in the Orchard.”
Last year, the event raised almost $3,000. With an increased number of local sponsors and artists, this year’s goal is $5,000.
Each year, Children’s Village provides thousands of children with specialized medical and therapeutic services as well as a comprehensive parent and family support programs. www.yakimachildrensvillage.org
