Three years ago, Ed Reinhart was inspired by the kids and families at Children’s Village and decided he wanted to do something to support the expansion capital campaign.
“I wanted to do something that would be a great personal challenge and at the same time raise some real awareness for a cause I believe passionately in,” Reinhart said.
What came from that inspiration was a personal goal of completing the Seattle to Portland Bike race, a 100+ mile ride over two days, and raise funds along the way. His first year, he raised just over $9,000, last year $10,000 and this year he’s hoping to raise $20,000 when he rides on July 9th and 10th.
“Children’s Village is a tremendous gift and resource to our Valley,” he said. “And bottom line, when you have something this wonderful, you have to support it. We have an obligation to make sure that those children who need services have access to receiving them.”
