For the families and the children that come to Children’s Village, the bridge that you must cross to enter is significant.  Yesterday I was handed a picture that a grandparent took of her grandson’s recreation of Children’s Village.  Her grandson frequents the Village for services.

Using pieces of wood, rocks, paint, screws, and glue this young boy constructed his version of the Village.  Upon showing his grandma what he created, she asked, “What is this?”  He responded, “It’s Children’s Village – See, that’s it, and there is the bridge, and the water, and the rock with the words on it.”  He points.  The rock of particular shape had been articulately placed in an upright position mimicing the large rock located at the front of the bridge at Children’s Village.

Just amazed at his level of detail and thought, the boy’s grandma paused for a moment, then questioned, “Rock?  with words on it??  What does it say?”

Without hesitation, he answers, “It says, ‘It takes both the sun and the rain to make a rainbow’.”
