Have you heard of Friends of the Village? It’s a group of professionals and parents from around the community who have formed a volunteer group to support the various fundraising and community outreach efforts on behalf of the Village.
Sometimes they host a tour or bring a friend to a lunch and learn. Occasionally they help put together a fundraiser or luncheon. They might hang a poster in the break room at their work promoting an event that benefits Children’s Village or attend a meeting.
Really, it’s a group of fun people who care about children with special needs and their families.
Some are raising children with special needs themselves (but not all), and everyone gives a few hours a month to help promote the Village, to find opportunities to talk about what’s happening inside and outside the Village and get the word out how our community can support families and make sure the vital services the Village offers families continue.
It’s a big job, but many hands make light work.
Won’t you join us?
On September 26th at 5pm, Friends of the Village is hosting a social at Children’s Village. Learn more about our group, what we do and how you can be involved. Take a tour of the facility if you’ve never had the chance to take a look around and bring a friend. You’ll never regret the time you spent.
