It was a beautiful end of July day for fishing at Sarg Hubbard Park. About thirty kids from Parent to Parent’s Summer Kids Club at Children’s Village, along with their parents, gathered together to see if the fish were biting and to create some lasting memories. Sponsors from around the valley rallied together to make this day fun and light for these wonderful kids. Cabela’s generously donated $600 worth of fishing equipment, along with their time to come out and support the event. Alongside Cabela’s, Pepsi Cola Bottling Co, Sonic Drive-In, Ace Hardware, and the Yakima Greenway Foundation all played a major part in the success of this day. Coordinator Katie Trammell explained that when she went to these businesses with the initial Children’s Village fishing day idea, the unanimous answer was, “Yes! And what else can we do to help?” What a great community we have and what a wonderful event it was. Thank you to all who contributed their time and energy into this day for these awesome kids. It is sincerely appreciated.
