Families of children with special health care needs often talk about feelings of isolation and loneliness. This is why the Parent to Parent office at Children’s Village makes every effort to engage and interact with every family who walks through its doors. From support groups, activities for children, parties, special interest groups and trainings throughout the year; there is an opportunity for connection, friendship and fun for everyone.
Parent to Parent hosted a family picnic at the newly renovated Children’s Village playground July 17th. Nearly 150 family members gathered together to enjoy new and old friendships, great food, lots of sunshine and the new play structure!
Kohl’s Department Store was generous to support the event with Subway sandwiches and wonderful staff participation. The new Children’s Village play area was made possible through generous donations from Yakima Downtown Rotary and the Yakima Valley Community Foundation.
