I got my first job at 16 as a carpenter’s apprentice. I pursued my goal of becoming a project manager and there are buildings throughout the Valley that I’ve had a hand in creating.
There was one job that I’ll never forget.
It was about 12 years ago—something called Children’s Village. I’d never heard of it, but it sounded neat. It was going to be a place for kids that needed special medical attention and the concept was to make it a place that wouldn’t make them cry.
I went to work on that place every day, many nights staying late because I realized I was making a place that would change lives. I didn’t realize it would change mine. Every time I drive past it, I get chills.
They are adding on to the building and even thought I am not on site, I am giving to Children’s Village because it is the place that taught me what it means to believe. I am asking you to give because I know the power of the Village and the power of your gift.
