Parent to Parent hosted the fourth annual Teen Club Spring Formal, ‘Under the Sea’ on April 14th at Children’s Village. Over 30 kids and mentors attended the event.
Teen Club is a monthly group for teens with special needs and One 2 One program mentors. The teenagers are ages 13 to 21-years-old.
“Two DJ’s from Eisenhower High School put on a great dance complete with lighting, music and even a chance for kids to sign along on the microphone,” Parent to Parent Coordinator Tracie Hoppis said.
Sunwest Limousine’s donated their 12 passenger pink Cadillac Escalade limousine to the event and the teens had a blast riding around town.
“I’ve always wanted to ride in the pink Cadillac,” one teen said. “It was my dream come true!”
During the formal, refreshments and even a fun jellyfish craft was available when the teens needed a ‘dance break.’
Leading up to the event, a “boutique” night was held at the Village for teen girls to try on and borrow prom dresses that have been donated.
“It was a great time for all of the teens who enjoyed dressing up, dancing the night away, and of course taking a ride around town…in pink lavish style,” Hoppis said.
